Courtney received her law degree from Texas Tech University School of Law. Courtney joined the Collin County District Attorney's Office after interning with both the Tarrant and Lubbock County District Attorney's Offices and quickly moved through the ranks from Misdemeanor Prosecutor, to Chief Misdemeanor Prosecutor, to Felony Trial Team Prosecutor. Her impressive track record includes hundreds of jury and court trials. Courtney has first chair jury trial experience with all levels of felonies and misdemeanors and extensive experience in plea bargain negotiation and criminal motion practice. In addition to being an author and speaker, she has an extensive list of awards and recognitions. Courtney is a member and leader in the Plano Junior League and is a member of the Collin County Bar Association, the Collin County Young Lawyers Association, the McKinney Chamber of Commerce and the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.
